Access and Assessment Centre - Vancouver Coastal Health
The Access and Assessment Centre (AAC) is here to help you, your family member or your friend during a non-life threatening mental health and/or substance use issue. 604 675 3700 or walk-in between 7:30 am and 11:00 pm.
The counsellors are Master's level Counselling Psychology Practicum Interns who receive individual and group supervision by approved supervisors at both the Masters and Doctoral level.
Cascade Christian Counselling Association
Counselling and coaching service, and provides assistance to all people regardless of religious affiliation or ethnic background.
Not-for-profit organization. Services are available across the Lower Mainland to every member of a community regardless of religious views.

City University community Counselling Clinic
Offers free counselling and support services for young people ages 13 to 24 in the areas of family relationships, anger management, mental health counselling, and sexual orientation/gender identity issues. Services are offered by Master's level counselling students.
Deltaassist Counselling Services
Not-for-profit society offering counselling services to individuals, families and youth. Programs include assisting families and young parents, individuals affected by substance misuse, victims of abuse and violence, and suicide prevention.
Downtown Eastside Women's Centre
Provides practical support and basic needs and works toward positive change for women, children and seniors in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Counselling and advocacy services are available.

Provides supervised clinical training to MA students in counselling psychology, as well as low-cost counselling services to the community.

New Westminster UBC Counselling Centre
UBC Master’s Degree and Doctoral students offer counselling services free of charge as part of the clinical practicum component of their studies. Services are available to students and community members. Counselling programs offered: Child abuse prevention, anxiety reduction, YMCA sponsored programs, and others.

ProChoices Community Therapy Clinic
By-donation ($20.00 min) feminist counselling services provided by supervised masters-level and intern narrative therapists.
Salvation Army Family Services
Offers low-cost counselling. Sessions are one hour in length and available to individuals or groups. Counsellors have a MA in Counselling Psychology or are practicum students. Anger Management classes are offered in a group format.
Sources is a community-based non-profit agency operated by the Peace Arch Community Services Society and serves individuals and families that reside in White Rock, Surrey, Langley and Delta
SHARE Counselling Centres (addiction)
SHARE Family & Community Services Society is a non-profit, independent, community-based agency providing leadership and programs in response to the social needs of the residents of the Tri-Cities (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra) and adjacent communities.
Counselling for members of the Chinese community. SUCCESS is a non-partisan citizen organization for the promotion of the well-being of Canadians and new immigrants and their participation in a just, equitable, and culturally diverse society through the provision of services, community development and advocacy.
Surrey Community Services - Drop In Counselling
Surrey Community Services Society is a team of professional therapists with Masters’ degrees in psychology, social work or a related field, and extensive training and experience in our specialities of Family Counselling, Sexual Abuse Counselling, and/or Suicide Prevention, Education and Counselling.
Services include assessment and treatment for children, adults, and families and are provided by graduate students in the Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology who are ultimately supervised by Registered Psychologists.
UBC Scarfe Clinic Offers free counselling by Master level students. Department of Education and Counselling & Special Education. Waitlist opens in August. Treatment occurs from September - April.
Provides clinical services, independent of external funding, within which clinical investigations can be conducted while also meeting the teaching needs of the community and university. (Does not serve Anxiety Disorders)
Vancouver Native Health Society
Vancouver Native Health Society (VNHS) delivers medical, counselling and social services, with an emphasis on providing care to the Aboriginal community. All programs are accessible without fees to native and non-native individuals residing in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.
Centrally located in downtown Vancouver, the Centre offers a variety of programs, services and activities that enable low income seniors to live independent lives. There is a food services department available to provide low-cost meals to seniors on a daily basis.
Burnaby Clinical Psychology Centre
Counselling for adults, children and youth provided by supervised graduate students in counselling psychology. Services at the Surrey clinic are free and at the Burnaby clinic are offered on a sliding scale.
Canadian Mental Health Association: North and West Vancouver Branch
Brief Counselling Service. Up to 12 sessions of counselling for North Shore residents without open ICBC, WCB or other insurance carrier claims.
Individual, couple and family counselling using Bowen Family Systems Therapy. Lower- cost counselling provided by supervised interns ($15-$50). Interns at North Shore and Vancouver locations only.
Free counselling provided in partnership with supervised master’s level counselling interns from City University. Individuals, couples and groups.
South Vancouver Neighbourhood House
Counselling Services. Free program offered twice a week by counselling interns from City University. Individuals, couples and families.
Little Mountain Neighbourhood House
Counselling and Art Therapy Programs. Counselling provided by counselling interns, by appointment only.

Counselling Sessions or Counselling by phone or Zoom, in partnership with Moving Forward Family Services and City University; provided by counselling interns. Free to those with a Kitsilano Neighbourhood House membership.
Living Through Loss Counselling Society of BC
Professional grief counselling related to life change or loss. Group therapy also available. Small fund available for limited, subsidized counselling.
Sliding scale professional counselling to the Jewish and broader community. Everyone welcome. Serving youth, adults, seniors, couples, and families.
Heath Initiative for Men (HIM)
Brief professional counselling (8 sessions) is available to gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men either by donation equivalent to hourly wage.

Specialized Counselling & Trauma Services
Family Services of Greater Vancouver. Professional counselling for women, children, survivors of incest/trauma/sexual abuse, pregnant women with a trauma history and those experiencing family violence. No fee, however may require a referral from a social worker.
Trauma-focused psychological counselling for refugees in one-on-one and group settings. Services provided in over a dozen languages.
Crime Victims Assistance Program
Funded counselling for victims of crime, their immediate family members and witnesses.
Battered Women’s Support Services
Counselling and support services for any woman who has been abused in an intimate relationship as well as women survivors of childhood sexual abuse, adult sexual assault and Indigenous residential school survivors.

Individual counselling and group support for cis and trans women, two-spirit, trans and/ or non-binary people who have experienced sexual assault.

MMIWG2S Family Counselling Program-WAVAW Rape Crisis Centre
Free counselling for family members of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and two-spirit people. Family members includes extended families, community families and self-identified family members.
Atira Community Services Society - Stopping The Violence Counselling
Free individual and group counselling for women and transwomen who have experienced relationship abuse, sexual assault, or physical, emotional or sexual abuse.
First Nations Health Authority
Provides coverage to access mental health providers, including counsellors, social workers, and psychologists. FNHB covers three mental health programs: Short-Term Crisis Intervention, Indian Residential School Resolution Health Support Program, and the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls - Health Support Services.
Vancouver Coastal Mental Health Vancouver Hospital Group therapy for depression, anxiety, stress. Individual mental health assessments. Referral through your family doctor, or via a walk-in clinic.
For Vancouver residents, provides counselling for individuals age 19 and over who have made a suicide attempt, are currently suicidal, or have suicidal thoughts; also offers support and education for people who are concerned about the risk of suicide in a significant other or bereaved by a suicide death.

Free, cognitive-behavioural online therapy for qualifying Vancouver residents. Registered online clients are assigned an online psychotherapist for time-limited sessions. The general public may also access the online courses in a self-help capacity (without therapist assistance).
Bounce Back Program - Canadian Mental Health Association
telephone coaching for people with mild-moderate depression with or without accompanying anxiety. Coaching available in English, Cantonese, French and Punjabi. Family doctor’s referral required to access this program. Free.
Mood Disorders Association of BC
Counselling and Wellness Centre. Individual therapy with certified counsellor. Group therapy also available.
